Many people may not be initially interested in journaling, but when you take a look at the benefits, such as stress relief, personal growth, and self-reflection, they may be more inclined to give it a try. Journaling can be a great way to process thoughts and feelings in a non-judgmental way, which can lead to greater self-awareness and a deeper understanding of oneself. It can be used for work, home, or anywhere you need extra attention.

People may not be interested in traditional journaling formats. I know that I am not a long form journaler. I like to jot down a note or a few sentences, at most. Others may prefer lengthier entries. There are also many different options for how to journal such as bullet journaling, digital journaling, or even audio or video journaling. Finding a format that works best for you can make journaling more accessible and enjoyable.

Sometimes, those new to journaling may not know what to write about, so having a journal that already has prompts can be helpful. These prompts can focus on self-reflection, personal goals, or even creative writing exercises. These can make journaling feel less daunting and more structured, which may make it more appealing to anyone new to the practice.

One of my top favorite journals like this is Mind Journal. While it is marketed towards men, it’s truly useable for anyone.

When deciding to start a journal, for personal or professional reasons, be sure to be open to the process. There are a lot of ways to tackle a new hobby or habit. My best advice is to be open to new things, follow a process to start and then feel free to change things up as you need.
